Dr. Liqian Bao is a Research Faculty at the Center for Data Analytics and Sports Gaming Research (DASGR) and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science & Systems at the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management, Morgan State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and an M.S. in Information Technology Management from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Dr. Bao’s research at DASGR centers on responsible gaming, sports gambling advertising, and regulatory recommendations. She utilizes machine learning, deep neural networks, and large language models to analyze multimodal data in the sports gambling ecosystem. Her work aims to detect behavioral risk to inform policy and regulatory frameworks through data-driven insights. She teaches graduate-level courses such as Data Engineering, Data Wrangling and Visualization, and a doctoral course on Data Analytics Methods. She has published in Information & Management and Electronic Commerce Research and Applications.
